LÍNEA EDITORIAL DE NUESTRA REVISTA
La investigación científica es un proceso sistemático, organizado y objetivo que busca responder a un problema o pregunta. La difusión de los hallazgos de una investigación se lleva a cabo mediante la publicación de los mismos. Las grandes revistas sanitarias fueron consolidando su prestigio y establecieron normas específicas para la publicación de trabajos originales.
 
Si atendemos a la sexta acepción de la palabra imagen, de acuerdo al diccionario de Oxford, esta hace referencia a la "expresión lingüística mediante la que se sugiere una sensación, una idea o una vivencia de forma viva e inusual". De igual forma, la primera acepción de la palabra científica, se refiere a "que se ajusta a los principios y métodos de la ciencia o está relacionado con ella".

ESPECIFICACIONES DE CALIDAD ANALÍTICA
In order to proclaim strategies to set global quality specifications in laboratory medicine over 100 experts from 27 countries contributed to the Stockholm conference held in April of 1999. The main outcome of the consensus conference was agreement that a hierarchy of five models should be applied to set analytical quality specifications, from model 1 (clinical orientation) as the optimum approach to model 5 (state of technology). Cystinuria is an aminoaciduria caused by the defective transport of cystine and dibasic amino acids. The absence of cystine reabsorption in the proximal renal tubule produces an excess of cystine in the urine that causes the formation of kidney stones very difficult to remove by lithotripsy. There is only preventive therapy based on high fluid intake, alkalinization of the urine and treatment with chelating agents1,2.

Figure shows immunotyping (IT) and immunofixation (IF) results from a Patient's serum that showed a small monoclonal component (MC) using protein capillary electrophoresis. As noted in panel A, MC peak desappears after incubation with every immunoglobulin isotype antibody. This image suggested a polymerization artifact which must be resolved1,2, which was confirmed using immunofixation (figures B and C). Panel B shows immunoprecipitation in each lane, regardless of the tested immunoglobulin.
